Just when you think Tesla’s couldn’t get any cooler, they’ve done it again. They’ve recently updated their vehicles to update their software to 7.1 available now. This is available for both the Model S and the X. But that big feature that comes along w/ it is the new Summon feature.
This news will only increase your Tesla-envy.
The Summon feature will allow you to do just that: summon your car from a parking spot remotely. As seen in the video above, you can park in a 1-car garage and have it pull out on its own. To make this happen you just hold the center button on the key fob, when you see the hazard lights blinking, just click the trunk button and your Tesla will move in or out of a parking spot.
Summon is still in beta, of course, as you would have to enable it. To do so, you would have to go to Controls > Settings > Driver Assistance > Autopilot to enable it. Tesla also expands its parking abilities for perpendicular spaces as well as parallel ones now too.

The 7.1 update also brings forth enhancements to the Autopilot. Autosteer is only restricted to driving on local streets w/o a divider. It will also improve lane guidance, cruise-control abilities, better display auto-brightness, see if Supercharging Stations are closed for maintenance or not, and other minor improvements.
