LG G5 officialSay hello to the LG G5 officially unveiled earlier this morning at Mobile World Congress.   After all of the leaks & such, it is finally here.  Meet the all-metal & modular G5 ready to change the game.

LG took a completely different approach w/ their 2016 flagship device this year.

The G5 sports a 5.3inch QHD IPS Quantum display w/ 554ppi, powered by a quad-core 64-bit Snapdragon 820 CPU, 4GB of RAM, 32GB of storage expandable via microSD up to 2TB, running Android 6.0 Marshmallow w/ LG latest UI, a removable 2800 mAh battery, USB-C + Quick Charge 2.0, rear fingerprint scanner which doubles as a Home button, and the volume rocker is now back on the side instead of the rear.

In regards to the camera setup, LG took a different approach to things.  LG is using a dual-lens technology w/ a rear 16MP + 8MP camera lens which will allow you to switch between a normal & wide-angle field of view.  Also, allowing you to zoom up to 8x and photograph images up to 15-degrees beyond the human field of view along w/ automatic face detection.

The all-metal modular body allows for a slide-out battery drawer along w/ a camera and Bang & Olufsen Hi-Fi audio DAC modules that you can add/attach to the G5.  Back to the previously-mentioned always-on display, which shows the time, date, and battery.  LG redesigned the display driver + power management so it won’t suck out the battery while on.   LG says the display will only use 0.8% of battery per hour.

So the G5 is looking like smaller, modular form of the beloved Nexus 6P.   The G5 will be available globally this April.  So are you picking thius up or nah?
