While we’re less than a week away from I/O 2016 kicking off, that doesn’t mean that it is too late for last minute rumors/info and such. This time around we have a new device that will may be teased on stage at the conference. This bit of news comes from the folks over at Recode.
We’re not talking about the 2016 Nexus devices either. We’re talking about Google’s take on Amazon’s Echo speaker. Surprisingly enough, the way the Echo works by utilizing voice to search & automate things is right up Google’s alley. The internal codename for it is the Chirp and you could just say “OK, Google” to get activate it and ask away. If you have several Google accounts/apps like Calendar, Gmail, Chrome, Play Music. It would make using the Chirp, that much easier.
Google I/O is happening in Mountain View, CA next week as we expect to see more details revealed about Android N, a VR headset that’s not Cardboard, more Project Ara details, and much more.
