During Amazon’s quarterly earnings call last night, the company’s CFO Brian Olsavsky announced some bad news for US Prime members coming your way.  There will be a 20% price increase for Prime membership based on Amazon now offering even more value w/ it.

So Prime membership will go from $99 per year to $119 per year.  Current members will see the hike kick in on June 16th while new members will see it on May 11th.  With the current subscribers now up to 100 million, they’re hoping all that Prime now offers can add even more Prime users.

Currently, Prime offers fast shipping (2-hour to 2-day), stream content via Prime Video, Alexa shopping integration, Prime reading (e-book,s magazines, etc.), Prime Rewards & Free Photo to name a few.

What’re your thoughts on the price increase?  Pissed off or cool with it?
