Earlier this morning, we got an surprising email.  I say surprising because I didn’t expect this device to get any carrier support.   RED’s Hydrogen One smartphone is set to arrive to AT&T and Verizon later this summer.

The Hydrogen One will offer a 5.7inch holographic display that uses 4-View video format to display a 3D effect w/o glasses.  From what MKBHD (who saw the phone a while back), it’s supposed to be much better than the previous efforts that sucked.  See HTC EVO 3D, Amazon Fire Phone, etc.  RED will offer an expandable pin system to offer expansion via hardware modules like the Essential Phone or Motorola’s Moto Mods.

We don’t know the exact release date as well as pricing for either carrier.  The Hydrogen One had their pre-orders open for the phone last year in July w/ a $1,200 price tag.  I’m sure the carrier pricing will knock that down a bit for both full retail and their phone leasing pricing.
