Google dropped their 2nd beta for Android P yesterday and we downloaded it last night.  There isn’t a ton of new things added that we’ve seen thus far but a lot more little things.  However, this does include the final APIs for developers as we push towards the official release later this summer.

  • Android P = Android 9.0
  • 157 more emojis like superheroes, bagel w/ cream cheese, lobster, more gender neutral options & more
  • App Switcher adds Clear All option – at the end unfortunately
  • Quick reply to bundled notifications
  • Weather arrives on Always-On Display
  • Display color options
  • Slight UI tweaks

The Android P Beta 2 is available for the Google Pixel/Pixel XL and Pixel 2/Pixel 2 XL.  You can sign up for the Android Beta program to give it a spin now to save you from flashing images & unlocking bootloaders and such.

Did you update it yet for your Pixel?
