Last night, Microsoft unveiled a new take on the 2-in-1 Surface laptop w/ the education-aimed Surface Go. You can consider this refreshed take on the older Surface 3 but w/ more modern specs/features for you to take advantage of.
The Surface Go offers a 10inch touchscreen display w/ 1800 x 1200 resolution + 216ppi, powered by a 1.6GHz fanless Intel Pentium Gold CPU, choice of 4GB RAM/64GB SSD or 8GB RAM/128GB SSD, a 5MP front-facing camera w/ Windows Hello support + 8MP rear-facing camera w/ auto-focus, Surface connector, headphone jack, USB-C (finally), dual front-facing speakers w/ Dolby Audio Premium, running Windows 10 Home in S-Mode w/ the option to switch to full Windows for free, and a 9-hour battery life.
Of course w/ a starting price point of $399 & this being Microsoft, don’t expect any accessories to come w/ it. The Go Type Cover will cost you $99, The Signature Alcantara Cover will cost you $129, the Surface Mobile Mouse will cost you $35, and the Surface Pen $99.
Pre-orders kick off today in the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, UK, Ireland, France, Germany, Austria, Belgium, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Switzerland, Denmark, Finland, Norway, Sweden, Poland, Italy, Portugal, and Spain. pre-orders will kick off in coming weeks to other countries like Japan, Singapore, Korea, Taiwan, Malaysia, Thailand, Hong Kong, and in China with more markets to follow.
