Yup, you read the headline correctly.  The talked about Pixel Watch ain’t coming along w/ the other announcement from Google’s upcoming event.

The folks over at Toms Guide got the news as Google’s head of Wear OS engineering says that they have zero plans for a smartwatch this year.  Instead, they will work w/ partners to help push out new wears running the latest version of Wear OS.  Namely, the Fossil Group (Fossil, Skagen, Michele, etc.), Casio, and Deisel

It is noteworthy that Qualcomm is about to drop their new Snapdragon Wear CPU next week.  This might be a game-changer as the current Snapdragon Wear CPU could be better.  The new CPU could help Wear OS be better in smartwatch game.

We expected the Pixel Watch to come along w/ the Pixel 3s in their October event.  But things have obviously changed.

While I was curious about it, I didn’t hear enough to actually get excited.  Who’s bummed out about the news?
