This Is The LG V50 ThinQ, LG's 1st 5G Smartphone

We already heard rumors about LG’s V50 ThinQ high-end smartphone coming a lot sooner this year and now we know exactly why.  It will be used to help Sprint kick off their 5G network.  This bit of news is thanks to the @evleaks over on Twitter.

Evan got a hold of a press render of the forthcoming V50 ThinQ w/ Sprint’s logo + 5G branding on it.  From just looking at it, we see it resembles that of the V40 w/ 3 cameras on the rear + 2 in the front w/ a notch present.  As far as specific details, we know that it will be armed w/ a Snapdragon 855 CPU, vapor cooling chamber that’s 2.7x bigger than that of the V40 as well as a larger 4000 mAh battery inside.

A previous press release on LG’s South Korean site says an announcement is coming on the 24th of this month to reveal their 1st 5G phone.  This is also the same date on the press render so we can presume that this it.  Hopefully, these 5G phones that are coming won’t be super expensive (but they probably will) and their battery will last longer than that of the 1st 4G LTE smartphone.

I’m just curious to know what will be the differentiators between the G8 & the V50 since they may be dropping a lot closer together this year.  However, it could just be a V50 announcement w/ the phone coming later in the year as per usual.

Thought on the V50 being a 5G phone this year?
