And finally what we’ve been waiting for today, Apple’s new streaming service. Say hello to Apple TV Plus – their new service baked into their Apple TV. This will be more than just original programming as they had a lot to bring to it.
Apple TV Plus wants to be the home for storytellers.
Let’s start off w/ some of the original content. They got the return of Amazing Stories by Steven Spielberg, The Morning Show w/ Reese Witherspoon/Jennifer Aniston/Steve Carell, and more content from Oprah Winfrey, Octavia Spencer, J.J. Abrams, Jason Momoa, M. Night Shyamalan, Jon M. Chu, Sesame Street, and more.
Outside of the original content, they will have Apple TV Channels that will allow you users to pay for HBO, Showtime, Starz, CBS All Access, & other premium channel services through the app. BTW, the new app will get a redesign in May. The service will be ad-free, available on demand, and can be accessed either on or offline. The new service can be used via the Apple TV app on iOS, macOS, Roku, Fire TV, and select Smart TVs.
It will launch in over 100 countries later this fall. Apple didn’t share any details on pricing so we can expect more details around WWDC this year.
