Whether you subscribe to home is where the heart is or wherever your family is.  The concept and the place you call home is important.  It’s where you laugh, sleep, eat, and relax the most at.  We agree wholeheartedly.

So much so that we partnered up w/ Habitat For Humanity for their Home Is Key campaign.  Their focus is to show how an affordable home can create better lives for families.  They’ve partnered w/ several companies to help w/ the cause.  Companies like Chico’s FAS, Nissan, At Home, O-Cedar, and Nest.
Speaking of Nest, the heating + electric bill can be a tough thing to balance – especially for new homeowners.  This is where the Nest Learning Thermostat comes into play.  It learns your habits and creates a schedule that adapts to your preferences.  Being connected also via Wi-Fi, you can control your temperature from your phone at home or away.

All while still being able to adjust the temp on the fly and make select rooms a priority.  In the process, you can save on energy & $$$.  Depending on your use and square footage of your home, it can pay for itself within a year or two.  Definitely not a bad way to save some $$$.

This is where you come in.

You can purchase items from one of their partners or simply donate directly to help out w/ the cause.

  • Chico’s will get a $5 donation for every gift card of $25
  • Nissan will $5 for every social media share of the hashtag #HomeIsTheKey in April.
  • At Home will give $4.55 for every coaster sold
  • O-Cedar will give $1 for every ProMist MAX spray mop sold
  • Nest will give $250,000 to the cause.

And a little background for the uninitiated, Habitat for Humanity is an organization that has been around since 1976 w/ a mission to building “simple, decent, and affordable” housing.  The need for this non-profit organization is essential these days.  Especially due to hard times and poverty as not everyone is fortunate to have a place to call home.

I am currently in the beginning phases of buying a single family home for our growing family.  I have been fortunate enough to not fall too far on hard times.  Others have not been so lucky and again this is where helping out Habitat for Humanity & Home Is The Key comes in for assistance.
