Well, today was the day many of you were waiting for: the Google Stadia pricing & launch details.  It’s actually not too bad considering its another small bill.  Let’s dive into all of the details.

So for starters, you’ll only need a minimum of 35Mbps down to enjoy that fastest gaming experience of 4K HDR quality @60fps w/ 5.1 Surround Sound.  Stadia will offer gaming speeds at 720p quality w/ a 10Mbps down minimum and 1080p HDR quality w/ 20Mbps down minimum.

So what will you need to play?

Anything that uses a Chrome browser (laptop, desktop, tablet) and all versions of the Pixel 3 (3/3 XL/3A/3A XL).  If you want to play on your TV, you’ll need a Chromecast.  So you’ll need the Chromecast Ultra if you’re a Stadia Pro user.

Now onto another burning question: pricing.

So Stadia will arrive in 2 tiers of premium & free or Stadia Pro & Stadia Base.  So the Base model offers up 1080p resolution but no access to free or discounted games.  The Pro model offers up to 4K gaming w/ 5.1 Surround sound, free games w/ Destiny 2: The Collection and discounted games for $10 per month.

Google is offering a Stadia Founder’s Edition for $129 that comes w/ an exclusive Stadia controller, 3 months of Stadia Pro for you and a  friend, a Chromecast Ultra, and exclusive access for choosing your own Stadia name.

Now what games will you be able to play?
