Yesterday, the folks over at Nomad announced new, stronger charging cables made from Kevlar. Its a part of the Kevlar collection of cables on their site as it launches w/ 11 different cords w/ different arrangement of connectors & lengths.
So you got USB-C to USB-C, USB-A to Lightning, USB-C to Lightning, 100W USB-C cable for laptops, and a Universal one that has USB-A on 1 side and options for micro-USB/Lightning/USB-C on the other side. Just to name a few of them.
Now back to the toughness of them. Nomad teamed up w/ DuPont & Kevlar 29 about a year and a half ago and this was the result of it. You got Kevlar on the outer braid & central core to combat wires getting frayed as well as taking whatever abuse you would give it. If the material can be used in body armor, for aerospace, etc.; it makes sense to utilize it to keep your cables from getting ruined.
The cheapest one is $30 and tops off at $45 for a 10ft cord. The pricing for it all isn’t too bad either. Now who’s picking one up?
