The 2 gaming icons are teaming up once again for the upcoming 2020 Olympics for the Nintendo Switch. Get ready for Mario & Sonic as well as just about all of their supporting cast of characters at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020.
The crossover series offers over 30 games for you to choose from as this supports up to 8 players – both native, multiplayer, and online. There’s even a 2D section of the game that brings it back to Tokyo the last time the Olympics was held there: in 1965. You get to play as older versions of the characters in a total of 10 events like the 100-meter dash, 10-meter platform (diving), 400-meter hurdles, vault (gymnastics), judo, K-1 1000-meter kayak single, long jump, marathon, trap shooting, and volleyball.
The last time these 2 teamed up was for the Beijing Summer Olympics back in 2008 for the Wii. A few weeks back, we got a chance to play a few of the games the title offers out in NYC. We played some of the regular games & 2D games as they were all fun & quite addictive. Definitely looking forward to playing this when it comes out.
And when does it come out? I’m glad that you asked. It will launch in less than a month on November 5th for the Switch. So who’s looking forward to picking this one up?
