Ever wanted to be able to move your music playlist from your one room to another w/ dropping a lot of $$$ on Sonos?  Today is the day it can happen – especially if you own one of the many Google products like the Google Home line, Nest smart speakers, or a Chromecast.

Google’s new multi-room feature is being called Stream Transfer.  Its execution is quite simple to use.  If you’re leaving form one and migrating to another one in your home and want the music to move w/ you and then ask Google to transfer the music to another room/speaker group in your home.  This will work w/ YouTube videos too as you can move to a smart display in the kitchen to your Chromecast-connected TV in the living room.

To get started, just make sure you have all of you Google Cast supported devices properly setup within the Google Home app as in letting the app know what room each device is in.  And then you may begin moving your stream around the house.

So who’s looking forward to giving this for a spin?
