While Nikon has been pretty quiet on the camera front compared to its competitors, they have been working. Last time we heard from them was w/ the Z6 & Z7 full-frame cameras and now we have a new mirrorless camera w/ the Z50.
So the new Z50 will offer a similar body design from the previous Z-line of shooters. All while touting a 20.9MP APS-C sensor capable of up to 4K @30fps/1080p @120fps/1080p slow-motion, ISO range of 100-51,200, a 209-point Hybrid AF System w/ eye-tracking, can shoot up to 11fps continuously, a 3.2-inch LCD touchscreen that unfortunately flips down & not up, a pop-up flash, Bluetooth + Wi-Fi support, and a mic jack but no headphone jack.
The Z50 has no in-body image stabilization but does offer a slightly rugged body comprised of magnesium alloy that can handle light weather resistance. All within this body that weighs in at 14-ounces.
Nikon crafted this shooter w/ the growing creatives in mind. It certainly has everything you would need to get started – at least on paper anyways. The Z50 will drop sometime in November starting at $860 for the body and $1,000 w/ the f/3.5-6.3 16-50mm kit lens.
For you Nikon fans, is this the shooter you’ve been waiting for?
