Another CES, another cool concept that we wish was a real product. For 2020, its from the folks over at Alienware w/ their new Concept UFO portable gaming device. This allows you to play PC games on the go like Nintendo’s Switch.
Now mind you, this is called a concept but its a full-fledged working device. My colleagues that played it told me that it works quite seamlessly and performs well. We don’t know a lot about it like CPU, GPU, RAM, etc but we do know this about it.
The Concept UFO is equipped w/ an 8inch display w/ 1900 x 1200 resolution, a D-Pad, 2 joysticks, shoulder + trigger buttons. Like on the Switch, both controller can detach but they decided to utilize the power of magnets for this one. It also has a dock and a stand as well to be a bit more adaptable.
Now for something like this to be real, you would have to make some sacrifices. Like heat + battery is gonna be bad on something like this – especially the 1st-gen version of it. No word on whether or not, if this will make its way to stores anytime soon or if it does, what would the price tag be for it.
I honestly think we will see it one day. Just might have to wait for some better tech to arrive to make that actually happen though. Check our Thunder E’s video on it below. If it does see the light of day, who’s buying one?
