Earlier today, the folks over at Sony unveiled a new wireless camera grip that extends the use of your camera. It has a terrible name w/ the Sony GP-VPT2BT but utilizes Bluetooth instead of wires to connect it.
The grip allows you to take photo from it, start recording video, zoom, and access to your custom C1 button. Did we mention that it can double as a table-top tripod? Yeah, it can as well as being dust & moisture resistant. And since its wireless, you still retain all of your ports to use for other accessories like mics, lights, etc.
Keep in mind that it is battery-powered so you’ll have to remember to charge it. The GP-VPT2BT will work w/ the Alpha A9 II, A9, A7R IV, A7R III, A7 III, a6600, a6400, a6100, RX 100 VII, & the RXo II cameras. It will cost you $140 and is due out later this month.
