This ain't it, just the current Apple Smart Keyboard

Over the past few years, Apple is definitely been smartening up in regards to doing the little things they never did.  Last year alone, they made huge strides in championing their customers w/ the modular Mac Pro, the USB support on iPads, and a version of Night Mode for the iPhone.  Next up, a new addition to their iPad keyboards to fill in the blanks.

According to the folks over at The Information got word that their upcoming iPad keyboard accessory will be armed w/ a trackpad.  This would be a huge advantage for iPad users giving them an alternative to just tapping the screen all of the time.   The release of iPad OS last year allows for mouse support but you have dive into the Accessibility menu to activate it and its a big see-through circle rather than a black arrow you might be used to.  However, this can become a lot easier to access via a software update.

The new keyboard is said to launch along side the updated iPad Pros.  I know there other accessory makes that already makes this but Apple is usually really good w/ their official accessories.  This would help them push the iPad being the new computer narrative.  I doubt we’ll see a touchscreen Mac but that’s just about the last thing on the list of people wanting from Apple.

Was this on your wishlist of things for Apple to do?
