The Sony WH-1000XM3s are still my favorite & go-to headphones until something else comes along and changes my mind.  They’ve actually been out for a while and are due for an upgrade.  We know a newer one is expected to drop sometime this year.  On Friday, some images leaked on what looks like the forthcoming Sony flagship noise-canceling headphones: the WH-1000XM4s.

It was actually spotted on Brazil’s version of the FCC by Everton Favretto on Twitter.   As you can see form the images above, not too much has changed in regards to overall look of it all.  However, you do notice the cups are now a lot larger from the previous model.  Hopefully this means bigger sound and larger battery inside.   Also spotted within the filing was a user manual shows off Bluetooth 5.0 support, lower power consumption, 40 hours of juice w/ noise-canceling on, and a new ‘Speak to Chat’ feature to work better w/ virtual assistants.

So all of this may or may not be a big reason to upgrade.  We expect the pricing to be the same around $350 – especially w/ the now-current version being on sale about all of the time.  I am definitely curious to see what Sony does as I’m sure there’s more to be revealed.  Thoughts on it?  Sound off as well as check our review on the current model now.
