Canon Confirms 8K RAW + 4K 10-Bit Video For The EOS R5

Little by little, more & more details are being revealed on the upcoming Canon EOS R5 and its really turning out to be the dream camera – for most.  Earlier this week, Canon took to a press release to reveal their video features & other specs as well.  Let’s just say they’re checking off all of the boxes.

So the EOS R5 will offer 8K RAW Internal @30fps as well as 8K 10-bit 4:2:2 Canon Log, 4K video up to 120fps, and 4K external recording up to 60fps.  All of this w/ no crop for both 4K + 8K video as well as access to their amazing Dual Pixel AF in all 4K + 8K video modes.  Canon is definitely pulling out all stops as this will have a 1st for the company w/ 5-axis IBIS (In-Body Stabilization) that will work in tandem w/ the OIS on their RF + EF lenses.  And last but not least, you’ll have dual card slots present w/ one being a CFexpress and the other being an SD one.

Now all of the latest info doesn’t deem it the perfect camera for 2020.  There are still a few things we still don’t know that can change your opinion on this shooter.  Pricing is still one of them but at this point, I’m sure it will get revealed when the camera is officially announced.  I would say around $5K for the body if I were a gambling man.  Anything below that would be a steal.

How much would you pay for this and do you plan on picking this up?
