Google game-streaming Stadia platform finally gets its free-option today. So anyone w/ a Gmail address can sign up to use it. Google is trying to sweeten the deal by throwing in 2 months of the premium Stadia Pro level features for free.
The good news is that even existing Stadia Pro subscribers will get 2 months free as well. So for those 2 months, you will get to their April games which includes:
- Destiny 2: The Collection
- GRID
- Gylt
- SteamWorld Dig 2
- SteamWorld Quest: Hand of Gilgamech
- Serious Sam Collection
- Spitlings
- Stacks on Stacks (on Stacks)
- Thumper
One of the many benefits of going Pro includes gaming + streaming up to 4K @60fps w/ HDR lighting as well. After those trial period, you will go back to the free service and drops down to 1080p resolution @60fps & stereo sound. So for those of you interested, you can just:
- Go to Stadia.com to sign up
- Download the Stadia app on Android or iOS
- Play on your laptop, desktop or Chrome OS tablet with your favorite (HID compliant) USB supported controller or mouse and keyboard
- Play over WiFi on Pixel or many supported Android phones
