One of the many things we’ve been waiting for in the tech/camera/creator space is finally coming.  The successor for the Sony A7S II is actually coming sometime this summer.  At least the announcement for it anyways.

Sony’s VP & Senior General Manager of their Digital Imaging Group, Kenji Tanaka, talked to DP Review and confirmed it to arrive later this summer.  They’re focused on the launch w/ a complete redesign of the whole system – all the way down to the sensor.

Tanaka also stated the S in the A7S that once stood for ‘Sensitivity’ but this new one will stand for ‘Supreme’.  Based on the interview, we hsould be expecting a new stacked CMOS sensor, 4K@60fps 10-bit 4:2:2 recording and they’re working on delivering RAW data capture as well.

I’m just happy to hear that its finally coming.  So now the question of whether will you buy the A7S III or the Canon EOS R6?  Both of these flagship shooters are set to be announce this summer and go on sale this year.
