Smartphones are getting more & more popular to create videos & films. For that reason, we’re gonna ee more & improved gimbals for it. Yesterday, DJI dropped their updated smartphone gimbal w/ the Osmo Mobile 4.
The OM4 offers a new upgraded motors, a new foldable design for better means of transporting, and a new magnetic mounting system- all on a 3-axis stabilizer. The new magnetic mounting is the biggest change that speeds up the balancing process. There’s also a magnetic mount w/ a ring holder that adds on the back of the phone.
On the software side of things, the OM4 has the same shooting modes like ActiveTrack, Gesture Control, Timelapse, Story + Sport modes. They did add Dynamic Zoom that digitally zooms in a subject while moving towards/away, Spin Shot Gimbal Movement that does a barrel roll effect but not to a complete 360-degree, and a Clone Me Panorama lets you clone yourself + friends in a single shot.
The good news is that all the new features maintains the good 15-hour battery life and can be charged w/ a portable battery pack. The new Osmo Mobile is out as of yesterday for $150.
