Even though iOS 14 just dropped this week, there might be something to look forward w/ an upcoming update for music lovers.  We’re talking about a new Music Recognition feature powered by Shazam.

This was spotted on a developer beta of iOS 14.2 that can help identify songs playing near by as well as music playing on your headphones/earbuds.  Currently, it can be toggled within the Control Center & activated w/ a touch of a button to get your iPhone listening.

In case you forgot, Apple owns Shazam as they bought back in 2018.  You can already use Siri to pull up Shazam but this is something many have been waiting for.  More or less, the closest thing for Apple to get a version of Google’s Now Playing.

Now there is zero guarantee that this will arrive on the final version of iOS 14.2.  This could be ready in time for the new iPhones in October, sometime before, or sometime afterwards.
