So back in August, we told you about Sony’s app to use your Sony cameras as a webcam.  Unfortunately, it was only available for Windows computers at the time.  Effective yesterday, that has changed.

The Imaging Edge Webcam software arrives for Macs to use as camera  as a webcam or for Zoom video calls.  This brings the feature to 36 of their A-mount + E-mount cameras like the A9 II, A9, A7S III, A7R IV, A7R III, A7R II, A7S II, A7S, A7 III, A7 II, A6600, A6500, A6400, A6100, as well as its fixed-lens devices like RX100 VII, RX100 VI, RX0 II, RX0, and the vlog-focused ZV-1.

Of course, if you have select older models, the software won’t be supported like the OG A7 or the a6000.  However, you can still connect them manually for a webcam via an HDMI capture card.

So now Mac users can enjoy Sony camera webcam action as well.  Enjoy!
