To no surprise, recent rumblings say that Apple is working on adapting their Arm-based M1 CPU to the rest of the entire Mac lineup. New report form the folks over at Bloomberg, lets us know exactly what & when we can expect the new Macs.
They said we can get an up to a 32-core version of the M1 in a Mac sometime in late 2021. Namely a slightly smaller Mac Pro sometime in 2022. There’s also word of up to 16-core version of the M1 set to arrive on a new version of the MacBook Pro & iMac. These can arrive as early as spring of next year.
You can expect Apple to add more M1 chips over the next 2 years as they transition away from Intel-based Macs. Apple is working on 16 + 32-core M1s w/ them going as high as 128-cores. Especially w/ all of the rave reviews from the current M1 Macs (Mac Mini/Air/Pro), there’s definitely no looking back for Apple.
