Earlier today, Microsoft announced some changed coming to the Xbox Live Gold pricing.  Yeah another price hike buy this isn’t what you think.  This is more so to convert those on Xbox Live subscribers to move to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate which is a much better value.

So Live Gold members will go from $10 to $11 w/ a price hike of $1 for monthly users.  While those of you who buys 3-months at a time, you go from $6 to $30 w/ a $5 price hike.  The increase will apply to 6-month + 12-month pricing w/ the 6-month pricing now $60 + the 12-month pricing is now $120.  The aforementioned price hikes won’t affect current subscribers but once its over, you will be subject to the new pricing.

Microsoft is allowing current Live Gold subscribers to convert their remaining time into Xbox Game Pass Ultimate up to 36 months.  So if you got 6 months left on Live that will turn into 6 months of Game Pass Ultimate w/ no extra costs.  In case you don’t know, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate offers Xbox Live, xCloud game streaming, & access to more than 100 games.  So would actually gain more things by switching over.
