So Sony is looking to do a bit more w/ their cameras for 2021.  More specifically, by making a drone where you can place it in for photos/videos.  Meet the Airpeak quadcopter drone from the same folks who brought you the Vision-S concept car last year.

It is made to use your Sony Alpha shooter as its camera.  It will have 4 rotors + 2 landing stands that retract up when in flight.  Interestingly enough, they used to capture footage of their Vision-S concept car driving to get an idea of what it can do.   While it utilizes your Sony camera, it will have built-in sensors around the drone that we can assume for features like object-detection & other AI-assisted features.

While we don’t know the pricing, the specs, or much else about this drone, it is coming rather soon.  Sony is aiming for a Spring 2021 release window.  So we can expect to hear more them on the details as we get closer to that.

So what do you think?  Does DJI have some stiff competition or is it too early to tell?
