The Chevrolet Bolt was among the few EVs early to the market but apparently, they’ve been overlooked due to lack of attention/innovation throughout the years.  Well, Chevy is looking to change all of that w/ their newest iteration: the Bolt EUV (or electric utility vehicle).

The new Bolt EUV was unveiled yesterday online alongside a refreshed version of the regular Bolt EV as well.  They’re using a completely different battery chemistry to beef up the range from 238 to 250-mile range on the EUV & 259 on the refreshed Bolt.  Both vehicles will offer a single-motor drive that pushes 200hp, 150kW of power, & 266lb ft of torque.  There’s even the atypical regenerative braking, one-pedal driving mode, & more.

Inside you got a premium interior w/ seating up to 5, a 10.2inch infotainment screen on the dash, buttons instead of a gear shift, wireless charging for smartphones, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto support, automatic emergency braking, a sport mode, and options for a panoramic sunroof, rear camera mirror, and heated/ventilated front seats.

The Bolt vehicles have GM’s Super Cruise which is their assisted driving system that utilizes cameras, radar, & mapping data to drive hands-free.  But its not a self-driving system though as you still need to keep your eyes on the road.  This will be the standard version and not the enhanced version w/ automatic lane-changing.

In regards to charging, Chevy will include a dual-level charge cord that plugs into a standard 120-volt 3 prong outlet for Level 1 charging & a 240-volt for Level 2 charging up to 7.2 kW.   Both Bolts will only get 4 miles every hour of charging.  Plugged into a 240-volt outlet will fully charge in 7 hours.  A DC fast charger will add up to 100 miles in 30 minutes as well.  Also, Bolt owners will get a free installation of a level 2 home charger.

Both are due out this summer w/ the new Bolt EV starting at $32,000 and the Bolt EUV starts at $34,000.  The EUV goes up to $43,495 w/ their limited edition Launch version w/ a few additional trims & features added to it.  You can hit the link below to reserve yours now for those of you interested.  Only $100 will put you in the game to get one.

Is this enough to pull you away from all that Tesla has to offer?
