While every company is still prepping the release of the next smartphone, sounds like Sony’s Xperia line will be next up.  Thanks to the keen readers over at Droid-Life, Sony Xperia’s YouTube banner page got updated to show off an upcoming phone announcement for April 14th.

The forthcoming announcement is for April 14th at 3:30AM EST/12:30AM PST as many are anticipating it to be the Xperia 1 III.  Which is rumored to offer top notch specs like a 6.5inch 4K OLED 120Hz refresh rate display, Snapdragon 888 CPU, up to 12GB of RAM, 256GB of storage, an SD card slot, headphone jack, zoom features for the rear camera, 65W charging, and a 5000 mAh battery.

Now don’t expect Sony to skimp out on the price here as the Xperia 1 II came in at around $1,200.   Don’t look for carrier support as it will be sold unlocked here in the US and whether it will offer 5G support is doubtful.   We checked out the Xperia 5 II earlier this year which was a unique and amazing smartphone experience.  We think this might be as well, once made official.

Thoughts?
