This is a welcome announcement for those of you who’re deep within the Google ecosystem of devices (Chromebook, Pixel, Android TV, etc.) Google announced a great & necessary way for their devices to better communicate w/ each other.
So 1st things 1st, soon you’ll be able to create digital keys to open your car. This is using Fast Pairing along w/ Android Auto, UWB technology, & NFC-enabled cars – all using Android 12. All of this w/ the addition of making more vehicles offer wireless Android Auto, this is great just as long as everything works in sync.
No more fiddling w/ finding lost remotes or using D-pad to type in things for search or login. Next up, we got Google putting a native remote control for your Android TV-supported device/TV. This feature will become available later this year as it will work w/ more than 80 million Android TV devices as well as Google TV too.
And last but not least, more usefulness between your Android smartphone & Chromebook. They already work in tandem w/ the Phone Hub feature. But now adds things like a built-in control center to manage your phone from your Chrome OS laptop to respond to text messages, check battery life, locate it, turn on its hotspot, & locate it. And coming soon, the Phone Hub will be able to access photos form your phone as well as edit them & share on social media.
Google took some pretty strides in paying off owning multiple devices to take advantage of their ecosystem like Apple does. Hopefully it will be a great start as more will come to the platform.
