So earlier this morning, Nintendo let the cat out of the bag about their heavily-rumored ‘Pro’ version of the Switch – officially. Spoiler alert, its not quite the Pro model many were expecting but more so an mild upgrade. Let’s dive into it all, shall we?
So we’re looking at a slightly larger mobile gaming console going from 6.2inch LCD to a 7inch OLED touchscreen panel w/ 1280 x 720 resolution + overall smaller bezels, armed w/ a more powerful custom NVIDIA Tegra CPU, double the storage now at 64GB internally still expandable up to 2TB, stereo speaker, a new adjustable stand that takes up the entire rear of the console, and a new dock w/ a wired Ethernet port added that can give you up to 1080p @60fps via HDMI in TV mode.
Outside of that, you got the same battery life of up to 9 hours, the Joy-Cons still do what they do w/ no additional features, 3.5mm headphone jack, USB-C port, and all of the entire Switch library of games will work on here w/ ease. So you get all of this for an extra $50 Depending on your needs/desires, it may be worth it or nah.
So there you have it! The new-and-improved OLED Switch will be out on October 8th for $350. Will you be picking this up or adding it your holiday wishlist?
