So as we get closer to October, we’re getting more & more iPhone rumors.  Today’s latest is more so reiterations of previous ones but adds a bit more validity to them.  We can thank the folks over at Bloomberg BTW.

They’re reporting that at least one of the 4 upcoming iPhone 13 models will offer an LTPO (low-temperature polycrystalline oxide) display.  This is a technology Apple already utilizes for their smartwatches to adjust their screen refresh rates to optimize battery use.  In other words, this would bring forth 120Hz refresh rates to the iPhone – finally.  I’m sure that Apple will reserve this feature for either both Pro models or the Pro Max one.

As far as what else is supposedly coming?  Always-on display to go along w/ the faster refresh rate.  Cameras will get the usual upgrades to boost the optical zoom for video and better ultrawide cameras.  Don’t expect a in-display fingerprint reader or removal of the Lightning port just yet.  Maybe those will come around next year or the following one.

Since I missed out on the iPhone 12 lineup, I may upgrade to the 13 Pro Max depending on all that it has to offer.  Would the higher refresh rate get you to upgrade in the fall?
