Canon’s next shooter is the EOS R3 and it may come even closer to being announced. They teased this shooter earlier this year but have been mum on all that it can do. To refresh your memory, you can think of this as somewhere in between the EOS-1DX Mk III and the EOS R5.

This bit of news is courtesy of the folks over at Canon Watch that suggests we’ll see the announcement in September. As far as what the R3 will be equipped with, it’s going to be a lot actually. At the center is a 30.1MP backside-illuminated sensor capable of 6K video downgraded to 4K, 4K Canon Log3, 30fps shooting, AF technology that adds cars + motorbikes, and internal RAW video. You got vari-angle touchscreen display, Wi-Fi 5GHz, dual card slot consisting of SD + CFExpress, and LP-E19 battery. All within the same weather sealing as the EOS-1D series as well.

Despite the super steep competition in the market right now, this will be Canon’s 1st full-frame CMOS sensor w/ back-illuminated design. If you haven’t picked up one of the latest EOS shooters, will this be the one you get? Or do you need to see the official specs & pricing yet?
