So the rumors were correct and earlier today, we got the Pixel 5a w/ 5G from Google made official.  It kind of has everything we expected to and a little more w/ a $49 price tag.  Making it cheaper than the 4a 5G which will come in handy as the Pixel 6 lineup is said to offer premium pricing.

So the 5a offers a 6.3inch AMOLED display, powered by a Snapdragon 765G CPU, 6GB of RAM, 128GB of storage, a 3.5mm headphone jack, stereo speakers, their Titan M security chip, fingerprint reader, the 1st Pixel A series w/ an IP rating (IP67), and a massive 4680 mAh battery.

On the camera side of things, you got an f/1.7 12MP sensor capable of dual-pixel phase detection auto-focus w/ OIS + EIS and a f/2.2 16MP ultra-wide sensor.  You’ll be able to get video up to 4K@60fps + slow-motion 1080p up to 240fps.   This also brings over the Astrophotography, Cinematic Pan for video, Night Sight + Night Sight Portrait mode, and Portrait Light editing in Google Photos.  And on the front, you got a f/2.0 8MP selfie camera as well.

So there you have it, the latest & best take on the Pixel A series for 2021.  For the lovely price of $449, its gonna be hard to ignore this one.  We got ours today so expect to see our coverage on it before or around it goes on sale.  And BTW, its next Thursday on August 26th.

Will you be picking this one up or are you waiting for the Pixel 6 lineup?
