Yesterday, Google made their 2021 flagships official w/ the new Pixel 6 lineup powered by their new very own chipset. All were rumored and made to actual & factual. So starting w/ the Pixel 6 lineup, you got all premium materials here for a real premium Google smartphone experience.

So there will be rounded corners, minimal bezels, an aluminum frame, and a new camera bar housing all of the new camera sensors. So as far as the known specs thus far, we got a 6.4inch display w/ 90Hz refresh rate + dual rear cameras (wide & ultra-wide) on the Pixel 6. The 6 is set to arrive in punchy orange color option, green colors, and black + grey model. While on the Pixel 6 Pro, we got a larger 6.7inch 120Hz refresh rate + triple rear cameras (wide, ultra-wide, 4x zoom). The 6 Pro will arrive in dark black + grey, gold + cream, and white tone color options. The main camera sensors are said to take in 150% more light than before so more of the same sensors from years before.

Both will be equipped w/ an in-display fingerprint reader and powered by Google’s own Tensor SoC (system on a chip). Speaking of Google’s own Tensor chip, it will be interesting to see how it performs. It will replace the Snapdragon CPU powering the device along w/ the image processing, AI, machine learning, & more. The Tensor is said to be able to pull things of like fixing blurry images via ultra-wide camera photo data and capture better video quality by lending their photo AI computing to the video side as well. It will also retain its Titan M2 security chip as well.

Now it looks like all of these premium materials & look to it, will more than likely lead to premium pricing – especially the 6 Pro. So it will more than likely be over $1,000. So it sounds like after 6 versions of the Nexus & 5 years of the Pixel, we’re finally getting the official Google phone, for real this time later this fall (in October).

So who’s excited?
