The Sonos Roam was their portable smart speaker option unveiled last year as the smaller brother to the larger Move speaker.  Earlier today, Sonos added an SL version to their Roam  which is a mic-less or dumb version of it.

This comes in at a lower $159 price point w/ a few less features on board.  So along w/ the mics, you also lose access to Alexa + Google Assistant, their Trueplay sound tuning, and Sound Swap feature to pass audio to another Sonos speaker.  So unless you need those features, this will be the smaller speaker for you.

In case you forgot, the Roam offers a 2 Class-H amps, a tweeter, & a custom mid-woofer powered by a quad-core 1.4GHz CPU, IP67 waterproof rating, and a 10-hour battery life.  When we reviewed it, everything worked well save for the battery life and standby time wasn’t great.

Whatever the case, pre-orders kicked off today and will begin shipping on March 15th.  Will you be adding this one or starting your Sonos inventory?
