T-Mobile has been innovating the carrier game for the past several years now.  While Verizon might be the best in the game, T-Mo is easily coming for their necks.  Now, we’re talking T-Mobile partnering up w/ BMW for their 1st 5G-connected cars in the US.

So kicking things off will be the new 2022 BMW iX + i4 models to turn them into a moving Wi-Fi hotspot.  This will add $20 per month to give your beamer unlimited data/voice calls w/o a phone present.  This includes 200MB of roaming data, 5GB of 4G data per month in Canada + Mexico.  Making it easily the most expensive hotpsot around, BTW.

You’ll be able to connect up to 10 devices at a time in your car.  This works via a new eSIM so you’ll be able to bring your service w/ you & other BMW vehicles so as long as you’re logged into your BMW account.

I remember Cadillac was one of the 1st cars offering a mobile hotspot option many moons ago.  Now T-Mo ain’t the only game in town giving cars Internet speed.  AT&T is still powering GM vehicles & Verizon will start powering Audi starting next year.

So who’s looking to add this your new beamer or pick up one to take advantage of this feature?
