So today is the day for OnePlus fans here in the US & in Europe. After a delayed launch, we finally got the launch details & pricing for their latest smartphone: the OnePlus 10 Pro.
Pre-orders kick off today w/ pricing starting at $899 here in the US for the 8GB RAM + 128GB storage option. While in Europe, this model will cost you €899 / £799 while the 12GB of RAM + 256GB storage option will cost you €999 / £899. The phone will ship on April 5th in Europe and on the 14th here in the US.
Since its been a while, you might need a refresher on the specs. The 10 Pro will offer a 6.7inch QHD OLED display w/ 120Hz refresh rate, Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 CPU, up to 12GB of RAM, 256GB of fast UFS storage, and a 5000 mAh battery w/ 65W wired fast-charging + 50W wireless charging. On the camera side of things, you got triple rear system comprised of a 40MP main, a 50MP ultrawide, a 8MP telephoto, and a 32MP selfie camera.
Of course, there are several changes between the US & the overseas models. And that is a slightly slower charge speed at 65W fast charging instead of the 80W everyone else gets. You still have 50W fast wireless charging so you’ll still have a faster charging speeds than most US flagship smartphones. You also won’t have any 5G support for AT&T and Verizon 5G is on the way. T-Mobile is only carrier 5G-ready at launch w/ IP68 rating. There also won’t a 12GB and 256GB version available here in the US either as the 8GB of RAM + 128GB storage will be the only model you can buy.
This US launch sounds a bit messy & janky IMO. Not sure why all of these changes are being made but hopefully the phone is a homerun instead of a swing-and-a-miss w/ all of these asterisks behind it.
