Remember Google’s Nearby Share that came out in 2020?  This is their AirDrop competitor which allows you to move files between devices via file transfer within close proximity.  Well, its about to get a little bit better.

Ahead of Google I/O, we’re getting word of a new self-share mode spotted via Mishaal Rahman that will let you send files w/ a single tap.  The reason this wasn’t available before was due to Google’s security measures.

The cool thing about Nearby Share is that it works w/ more than just phones as you can use it to share files more than just smartphones.  You can send them to tablets & Chromebooks as well.

With Google I/O just a few short weeks away happening on May 11th, we can expect to hear more about this and a lot more.  Would this update get you to use Nearby Share more than you do now?
