Yesterday, Canon revealed not one but 2 new cameras. After finally stepping into the full-frame mirrorless market, they wanted to no longer neglect their APS-C fanbase out. So we have the EOS R7 and the EOS R10 which are essentially the little brothers to the EOS R6.
The EOS R7 will offer a weather-resistant body, a 32.5MP APS-C CMOS sensor capable of up to 4K@60fps in 10-bit 4:2:2. You can pull off 4K@30fps w/ a slight crop oversampled from 7K and 1080p@120fps slow motion. Also present is a 5-axis in-body image stabilization, the same autofocus system from the EOS R3, and continuous shooting up to 30fps via electronic shutter & 15fps via mechanical shutter w/ full autofocus on the latter option. You got dual SD card slots, a 3inch flip-out touchscreen LCD display, Bluetooth/Wi-Fi connectivity, and a multi-function hot shoe.
Canon quotes both cameras to record up to 30 minutes of video
Now despite the higher number, this is actually the more budget-friendly option out of the 2. The EOS R10 offers a 24.2MP APS-C CMOS sensor that also shoots 10-bit 4:2:2 4K@60fps + 1080p@120fps from oversampled from 6K. You can pull off the same 15fps mechanical shutter speeds but only gets around 23fps via electronic shutter. Unlike the EOS R7, you have a built-in flash for those of you who may need it. No 5-axis IBIS or dual card slots but you still retain the flip-out touchscreen LCD, Bluetooth/Wi-Fi connectivity, and multi-function hotshoe.
The EOS R7 will cost you $1,499 for the body only while the EOS R10 will cost you $979 for the body only. Both cameras are due out sometime late next month. Will you be replacing your Rebel series camera w/ one of these?
