So yesterday, Sony made their leaked next-gen LinkBuds official. Meet the LinkBuds S – the same overall concept but w/ less divisive design, better audio, adds noise-canceling, and slightly better battery life.
So gone is the donut-shaped buds and we have a new design that resembles that of their WF-1000XM4 + WF-C500 earbuds. All while being ridiculously light-weight at only 4.8 grams each. It’ still operating w/ its transparency mode on but now adds noise-canceling as well as Sony’s high-res audio LDAC support.
So along w/ the previously-mentioned features, Sony also adds the ability to immediately start playing music the moment you put in these earbuds, Spotify integration can immediately launch the playlist of your choice, you can hear “soundscape” effects after finishing a call, and adaptive sound control.
And last but not least, we already told you these get a little more juice on the battery side of things than the previous models. The LinkBuds S will get you 6 hours w/ ANC on and up to 20 hour sin total via its charging case. Speaking of which, don’t look for wireless charging support for it though. But It does retain its IPX4 rating to handle mild water-resistance.
You can pre-order yours right now, BTW. As these go on sale tomorrow, May 20th for $200. You’ll have the color options of Black, White, or the exclusive Best Buy color of Beige. I know these launched so close to the previous ones in February but would you be willing to give these a try?
