While WWDC hasn’t been the place for new Apple hardware in a while, we got some news for you.  Apple dropped revealed their new-and-improved MacBook Air for 2022.  This will be powered by their recently-announced M2 CPU so you can do more & enjoy longer battery life on your Mac.

It retains its lightweight 11mm thick design as it comes in a 2.7lbs but borrows the design language from the new 14+16inch MacBook Pros.  So this means you’ll have MagSafe charging along w/ 2 Thunderbolt USB 4 ports, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.  It will arrive in more color options as well w/ Silver, Space Gray, Starlight Gold, & Midnight Blue w/ the braided MagSafe cable that matches you color option.

You do get a slightly larger 13.6inch 2560 x 1664 resolution display w/ smaller bezels + 500 nits of brightness, a quiet fan-less design, a 1080p FaceTime HD webcam, new mics, new speakers that support Dolby Atmos, and powered by the new M2 CPU gives you 40% faster performance.

The new Airs will ship w/ a 30W charger but you have the option to buy their newer 67W power adapter for $59 which gives you fast charging to go from 0-80% in 20 minutes,  And then when buying the $1,499 model, you’ll get the 35W dual-port USB-C power adapter which costs you $59 by itself.

The new MacBook Air w/ M2 CPU starts at $1,199 for 8-core GPU, 8GB of RAM, & 256GB SSD, you can get to a 10-core GPU, 16GB of RAM, & 512GB SSD for $1,499.  The new Airs can go as high as 24GB of RAM + 2TB SSD.  You also have the option to still buy the M1-powered Air for $999 as well as the 13inch MacBook Pro gets the M2 CPU upgrade while it retains the TouchBar starting at $1,299.

For those of you who have been waiting for this update, the new Airs are due out in July.
