Applemade its long-awaited M2 chipset official at WWDC earlier today. This is made to more powerful than the M1, M1 Pro, M1 Max, & M1 Ultra chipsets for even better performance. These will be powering their newer Macs unveiled today and moving forward.
The M2 chips will be crafted from Apple’s custom Arm silicon as it is made to have 18% faster CPU and 35% faster GPU over the M1. Granting you support for up to 24GB of RAM, 6K external display support, updated media engine to support 8K H.264 + HEVC video, ProRes support, 100Gbps of memory bandwidth, play multiple streams of 4K + 8K video at the same time, and much, much more.
Surprisingly enough, the 1st wave of Macs to get this is their new-and-improved 13inch MacBook Air. This is armed w/ a 13.6inch display, better FaceTime camera, MagSafe charging, & a whopping 18-hour battery life. So for those of you who held out on the 14inch + 16inch MacBook Pros, it might be worth the wait for better performance & battery life.
