Yesterday evening, Sony surprised everyone w/ the announcement of their new gaming hardware under the InZone brand name. This will include headphones and monitors that works w/ the PS5 (of course) as well as PC games.
Which works out as some of their PlayStation exclusives are going to PC for immaculate timing. They’re launching w/ 2 gaming monitors w/ the M5 + the M9 and 2 wireless headsets w/ the H7 + the H9 and a wired H3 one as well.
Let’s start off w/ the headsets shall we? Both the H7 + H9 will offer 2.4Ghz wireless + Bluetooth connectivity as well offer a wired option w/ the H3s. All 3 will come armed w/ a built-in boom mic. The H7s will come w/ 40 hours of battery life and LED lighting while the H9s will come w/ 32 hours of battery life.
If you’re wondering about the difference, its due to the H9 offering digital noise-canceling abilities along w/ Sony’s 360 Sound support which the H7s lack. In case you’re thinking these are similar to their Pulse 3D headsets, you’re half right. The wireless models are bigger in size but may not translate into bigger sound. However, they do resemble a mesh of the Pulse and their latest WH-1000XM5s in design though.
Now onto the gaming monitors, the M9 is a 27inch 4K IPS monitor w/ 144Hz refresh rate, full-array local dimming & HDR tone mapping (that beefs up the look of the HDR color when plugged into a PS5) while the M7 offers a 1080p monitor w/ 240Hz refresh rate. Both offer ports for HDMI 2.1, USB-C, NVIDIA G-SYNC and variable refresh rate support.
The H-series headsets are available for pre-order right now while the M-series monitors are due out this summer. The H3 will cost you $100, the H7 will cost you $229, and the H9 will cost you $299. The M5 monitor will cost you $529 while the M9 will cost you $899.
