Late last month, Hyundai teased off the design of their upcoming Ioniq 6 EV.  But yesterday, they officially announced the vehicle as a whole along w/ more details + specs on it.  We already told you to keep your eye on this but now we can tell you exactly why outside of the looks of it all.

So the head of Hyundai’s design called the Ioniq 6 a personal mobile studio which is geared towards young professionals who love tech.  They give you options & customization on the interior w/ 64 different colors + 6 pre-selected themes to match your mood which can also get brighter when you accelerate.  They want to give you a bridge-like center console where you can place your laptop as well as a built-in notes app within one of the 2 12inch displays.  You got 4 USB-C & 1 USB-A ports.  All while giving you the option to lean your seat back to sleep as well

As far as under the hood, you got power taking advantage of their new streamliner design to pull off 0.21 drag coefficient to lower power consumption down to 14kWh.  This helps to max out up to 379-mile range on their 77.4 kWh battery.  With their top-of-the line model offering 2 motors + AWD that can go 0-60 in 5.1 seconds.  The standard range will offer up a 53 kWh battery.  The Ioniq 6 will still utilize Hyundai’s E-GMP EV platform  which will offer faster DC charging to give you up to 80% of juice in 18 minutes as well as being able to charge other devices using the car’s battery.  You’ll also can auto-switch between 2WD +4WD on AWD models, extra tuning, overall better performance, & more that can be updated via OTA software updates.

Production on the Ioniq 6 will kick off in Q3 of this year in Korea and then in Europe later this year.  However here in the US, it will start in January 2023.  It will arrive in a whopping 12 color options like Gravity Gold Matte, Abyss Black Pearl, Serenity White Pearl, Curated Silver Metallic, Nocturne Gray Metallic, Nocturne Gray Matte, Transmission Blue Pearl, Biophilic Blue Pearl, Ultimate Red Metallic, Digital Green Pearl, Digital Green Matte and Byte Blue.  And 4 interior color options of  Dark gray with light gray, Dark olive green with light gray, Black with pale brown and Black.

The Ioniq 6 will be one of many EVs from the company as they plan to have up to 11 models in the market by 2030.  So there you have it, everything minus the pricing of course but we can expect that announcement to arrive sometime later.
