Seriously, on the same day Disney+ increased prices went into effect, HBO Max decided to get into the ‘fun’. It’s about to get mildly more expensive to stream HBO and its amazing original content, such as Game of Thrones, The Sopranos, OZ, and more.
The new pricing takes effect immediately for new subscribers, and current users will feel the effects on November 20. The new pricing brings forth $1 to $2 increase for monthly and $10 to $20 increase for annual subscribers.
Here’s the actual breakdown of it all:
The Basic with Ads tier is now $11 monthly, with a $1 monthly increase and $110 annually, with a $10 yearly increase. The Standard tier is now $18.50 monthly with a $1.50 monthly increase and $185 annually, with a $15 yearly increase. And lastly, the Premium tier is now $23 monthly, with a $2 monthly increase and $230 annually, with a $20 yearly increase.
Unfortunately, this news isn’t surprising, as CEO David Zaslav said that he feels the popular streaming service is underpriced. Consumers would disagree, as the mounting costs of everything are due to inflation. Coincidentally, he is prepping to sell it and the Warner Bros. company off to the highest bidder.
So, will this bit of news keep you as an HBO Max subscriber?
