In case you weren’t aware, Samsung has been working on a trifolding phone—a phone that opens three ways, like a pamphlet. A recent report reveals a name and some of the folding phone’s specifications. According to @evleaks, the Galaxy Z TriFold will be the official name for Samsung’s larger foldable.
It will also offer a 6.5-inch cover screen, which opens up to a 10-inch inner display when completely unfolded, and a peak brightness of 2,600 nits for the outer display and up to 1,600 nits for the inner screen. The Z TriFold will reportedly be powered by a Snapdragon chipset, feature a 200MP main camera sensor, and include a 5,437 mAh battery.
As we’re nearly halfway through November, we could get the official unveiling before the end of the year. A separate report has the announcement pegged for the first week of December. But it’s probably more likely that we’ll see an announcement come next year at one of their earlier Unpacked events.
The phone was teased late last month at a showcase in Korea, which Samsung kept behind glass in both folded and opened states. And if you thought the Z Fold was on the pricier side, you can expect Samsung’s triple-folding phone to be more expensive. I just hope it’s not as expensive as $3,500, and even $3,000 would be a stretch.
