TCL unveiled its new Note A1 device, which is a version of a distraction-free, digital notebook utilizing the company’s NXTPAPER technology. More specifically, it has an NXTPAPER Pure display that is clearer and smoother than the color E-Ink screen its competitors use.
As far as its specs, the Note A1 is super-thin at 5.5mm and weighs in at 500g. It also has an 11-inch 120Hz screen with a 2200 x 1440 resolution, powered by a MediaTek Helio G100 chip, 8GB of RAM, 256GB of storage, runs Android, stylus support, a built-in fingerprint reader, a 13MP shooter for scanning documents, dual speakers, a total of 8 mics for recording and transcribing audio, a USB-C audio jack, and an 8,000 mAh battery.
Alongside real-time translation, it supports cross-device wireless file transfers, handwriting-to-text conversion, writing assist, AI-powered summaries, and something called handwriting beautification, I guess, to improve those with terrible penmanship. Outside of that, TCL hasn’t shared much else in regard to software.
The TCL Note A1 NXTPAPER will arrive sometime during the end of February for $549. However, it’s available now via Kickstarter with extra add-ons and savings.
